Children’s Dentistry

What is Children’s Dentistry?

Children of all ages should be visiting the dentist regularly for checkups and care. Regardless of your child’s age, it’s important to get them in as soon as possible to begin the treatment that they need. We offer care to children in a relaxed, family-friendly environment. At all times during your child’s visit, we communicate with both you and your child to ensure that they receive the care and attention that is needed.

  • Cleanings and exams

  • Orthodontic care
  • Product recommendations
  • Education on proper brushing and flossing techniques

Who is a candidate for Children’s Dentistry?

Every child is a good candidate for regular dental appointments. For young infants, we typically recommend bringing them in for their first appointment as soon as you notice their baby teeth coming in. From there, we recommend twice-a-year checkups for the rest of their lives. These checkups allow us to clean and check your child’s teeth to ensure they are growing and developing properly.

What can your child expect during their Children’s Dentistry appointment?

Your child will be seated in one of our comfortable examination rooms. We may take x-rays depending on the need and age of your child. Next, our hygienist will work to clear away tartar and stains from your child’s teeth. We polish and floss their teeth to remove any remaining plaque and stains. The doctor comes in and performs an exam, which looks for cavities and other problems. The appointment is done quickly and comfortably for your child, and we use kid-friendly terminology as often as possible to prevent the experience from being scary.
